Who cares about money? Who cares about fame? Watch the celebrities, they don’t always smile. They’re not always happy either. Forget about getting the best and being the best. Ignore what everyone else is doing, they’re not you. You can be whatever the hell you want to be, and so can they. Do something that makes you smile, that makes you want to get up in the morning. Don’t work yourself hard to make others proud of you, work for yourself. It’s your life, you may as well enjoy it.

Forget about all the material things that society has taught you to love and strive for. Realise the value of a smile, and hand out this treasure to those you meet. Learn to love, and be loved. Laugh lots, and don’t be afraid to look a fool. Stop pressurizing yourself to be the best, the fact that someone as unique as you exists already makes you special enough.

You are beautiful. You are handsome. You are everything good that has existed. You have flaws, of course, but these flaws make you human. Stop putting yourself down and keep your head high. We trust you, and we love you.

Life is just one big journey, it’s up to you to have a good adventure.

 

Choices

It’s your choice. It’s always been your choice, and secretly you’ve always known that, haven’t you? You looked for help from others but deep down you always knew it was up to you. You searched through an endless sea of doubt, looking for a rock to grasp hold of and stop the currents drowning you, but all along you were your own lifeboat.

You’re strong enough now. You can go through with it. Sail forward into the sea, until it thins into a small stream and your problems become a mere puddle on life’s pavement. Raise your sail and journey onwards. It seems hard, but it will only get easier. Sometimes you’ll want to drop the anchor and look around for help. Look for us, standing at the shore, waving and cheering you on. We’ll always be there as long as you look.

We know you can do it. And you know you can do it too. Remember this when the storm comes and threatens to capsize your little boat, and the wind howls through your sails, and huge waves try to engulf you. Remember that if you want to get through this, you can. You will get through this.

It’s always been your choice, remember that. And out of all the certainties in the world I know that it will always be your choice.
