Smile for me.

Why aren’t you smiling? Your smile is beautiful, did you know that? I love it when you smile to yourself, when somebody makes you laugh. Your lips spread wide across your face and your eyes crinkle and glint with laughter. You say you hate your smile. What’s the point in smiling?Image

I think your smile is beautiful. I think you’re beautiful.

Who cares about money? Who cares about fame? Watch the celebrities, they don’t always smile. They’re not always happy either. Forget about getting the best and being the best. Ignore what everyone else is doing, they’re not you. You can be whatever the hell you want to be, and so can they. Do something that makes you smile, that makes you want to get up in the morning. Don’t work yourself hard to make others proud of you, work for yourself. It’s your life, you may as well enjoy it.

Forget about all the material things that society has taught you to love and strive for. Realise the value of a smile, and hand out this treasure to those you meet. Learn to love, and be loved. Laugh lots, and don’t be afraid to look a fool. Stop pressurizing yourself to be the best, the fact that someone as unique as you exists already makes you special enough.

You are beautiful. You are handsome. You are everything good that has existed. You have flaws, of course, but these flaws make you human. Stop putting yourself down and keep your head high. We trust you, and we love you.

Life is just one big journey, it’s up to you to have a good adventure.

Another Girl

There’s a lot of girls out there with better smiles, and better hair, better clothes and a better figure. You could easily replace me with a pretty girl, and forget about me instantly.

But you can’t replace the way I made you smile, how I helped you out, kept your secrets, talked to you until dawn and made you laugh. You can’t replace the memories we had with a pretty face or a smaller waist. You can’t just forget about the jokes we shared, the plans we made, the things we did together.

Who knows though, maybe what you have with her will be just as unforgettable as what we had. What we had was great, but it’s over now, and we both can move on. All I’m asking is that you don’t forget us, when you form new memories with her. Memories become more painful when you try to take them away. And I want you to be happy. I really do.

So enjoy your time with her, and I wish you both well. Make her happy, treat her well, and may your memories be as bright as beautiful as ours once were.

In The Clouds

They once told me to get my head out of the clouds,
To stop daydreaming and get on with it.
So I took them by the hand,
Looked them in the eye,
And smiled.

We soared upward into an empty blue sky,
Leaving war, pain and trouble behind.
They squeezed my outstretched hand,
Looked me in the eye,
And smiled.

We gazed across a distant horizon,
Realising the world was beautiful from up here.
We watched the endless paradise below,
Looked it straight in the eye,
And smiled.

One Day

One Day, things will get better.
One Day, I will be beautiful.
One Day, I will show you that I am not what you say I am.
One Day, I will prove you wrong.
One Day, you will be sorry for trying to hurt me,
One Day, I will fight my demons that put me down,
And on that One Day,
I will win.
At last.

Maybe today, I am not beautiful.
In the morning, I may still not be beautiful.
I may never be beautiful.
But isn’t it better,
To wake up with shining smile, and hopeful heart,
Because One Day,
I may be beautiful.

Does putting me down make you feel better about yourself? Because if you are trying to make me feel uncomfortable about myself, you are failing.

I know I am not beautiful. I know I may never be beautiful. But I’d rather be kind of heart than fair of face, and the way you are acting right now, you are neither.

To all those who tried to make me hate myself. It used to work, but I am stronger now. God be with you.
